We're rapidly moving into the era of "modern apps", where users expect a more intuitive, productive, and compelling experience from their computers and devices. Moreover, they expect a similar app experience on their phone, their tablet, and their computer; all of which is transparently supported by a cloud-based infrastructure (public or private) so the app has their data and settings everywhere they go.
